What is Press-fit ?
It is an alternative to solder the connectors on a board. The pins of a press-fit connector have a special compliant zone at the end. When the compliant pin is pressed into a hole of a pcb, it will make excellent electrical contact and has a lot of mechanical advantages compared to soldering.
Which Press-fit press should I choose ?
The selection of the right Press-fit connector assembly equipment does not only depends of the maximum insert force of the press, but also of the volume of boards you need to produce, the type of pcb (backplane, daughter board, …) and the size of your product mix.
